Biden Refers to Himself as 'First Black Woman' in Recent Slip-Up
During a radio interview with Philadelphia's WURD, President Joe Biden stammered and mistakenly described himself as a black lady, leading to increased calls for the 81-year-old president to withdraw his reelection bid. Biden seemed to confuse himself with Vice President Kamala Harris, stating, “By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, first black woman... to serve with a black president. Proud to be involved of the first black woman on the Supreme Court. There’s so much that we can do because look... we’re the United States of America.”
Biden's comment about serving with a black president likely referred to his time as vice president under Barack Obama. He also mentioned his appointment of Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first black female justice on the Supreme Court in 2022.
This incident occurred on Wednesday night when Biden addressed Democratic governors at the White House. The New York Times reports that Biden's ability to handle the job is limited to the hours between 10 am and 4 pm, requiring him to get more rest and avoid late events. During the same meeting, Biden responded to a health inquiry with a joking comment, "Just my brain," which some attendees missed.
