Nasarawa Man Arrested After Beating Wife to Death Over Refusal to Cook

The Nasarawa State Police Command announced on Sunday the arrest of Musbawu Amodu, 30, on suspicion of killing his wife at their home in Agyaragu, Obi Local Government Area. The couple had been married for six years.

SP Ramhan Nansel, the command's spokesperson, confirmed that Amodu was taken into custody after reports emerged that he had beaten his wife, who subsequently died from her injuries.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to what he had done.

"The suspect confessed to committing the act out of anger after the deceased allegedly refused to prepare food. An argument ensued, which escalated into a physical altercation that ultimately resulted in her death," Nansel said.

A woman refused to cook. Her husband beat her until she died. He has admitted to this. She was 20 years old. Their children no longer have a mother.

There is no framing that makes that less than what it is. Domestic violence that ends in death is not a domestic dispute that went too far. It is a killing. The Nasarawa domestic violence wife killed husband arrested case will be treated as such by the courts, and it should be treated as such in how it is reported.

CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed, the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, has referred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for a thorough and expedited investigation. The Commissioner gave a public assurance that justice would be served and that charges would follow once investigations are concluded.
