Timothy Dauda, a 19-year-old, self-professed native doctor has been taken into custody after shooting his client in Edo State as the client was trying a bulletproof charm he had made for him.
The incident occurred at Onumu Community in Àkókò-Edo Local Government Area of the state. Confirming the event, State Police Command spokesperson SP Moses Joel Yamu reported that officers from the Igarra Division apprehended the suspect involved.
According to Yamu, the suspect specializes in crafting charms designed to protect against weapons such as cutlasses and rifles. The victim, identified as Alex Ezekiel, had approached the suspect to request a bulletproof charm.
“One Alex Ezekiel, now deceased, went to the native doctor to get the charm prepared for him. After the charm was made, the native doctor attempted to test its effectiveness by shooting the deceased with a gun," Yamu explained.
Tragically, Ezekiel sustained fatal injuries and was rushed to Ifejola Hospital in Igarra, where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor. SP Yamu stated that once the investigation is complete, the suspect will be prosecuted.
