Presidency Refutes Claims of Rift Between Vice President Shettima and President Tinubu

On Monday, the Presidency dismissed rumors of a conflict between Vice President Kashim Shettima and President Bola Tinubu, reaffirming their strong working relationship.

Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the Vice President, described Shettima as a key figure within Tinubu's administration who enjoys the President's full confidence and support.

Nkwocha stressed that the Vice President remains committed to his role and dismissed allegations of a rift as unfounded. He referred to claims that Shettima had been sidelined within the government as baseless and speculative.

In a statement released in celebration of the Vice President's 58th birthday, Nkwocha highlighted Shettima’s dedication to President Tinubu’s leadership. “In a political landscape where loyalty is often tested, Vice President Shettima stands out as a beacon of dedication and commitment to his principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His unwavering support and teamwork set a positive tone for the administration,” he stated.

Nkwocha further noted that Shettima has consistently shown his loyalty and support through both his words and actions, portraying a strong partnership with President Tinubu. “Unlike previous administrations that faced public disputes between vice presidents and their principals, Shettima’s approach underscores a harmonious working relationship,” he added.

Dismissing recent conspiracy theories about the Vice President being marginalized, Nkwocha concluded that Vice President Shettima continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the goals of the Renewed Hope Administration, bringing his unique expertise and energy to the table.
