Kano Headmaster Arrested for Allegedly Selling School Property
The headmaster of Gaidar Makada Special Primary School in Kumbotso Local Government Area has been arrested by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) for allegedly selling school property.
The PCACC spokesperson, Kabir Abba Kabir, disclosed in a statement on Saturday, August 31, 2024, that the arrest followed an investigation that uncovered suspicious activities involving the illegal sale of school assets. The investigation revealed that key items, including metal fixtures, benches, and furniture, had gone missing from the school premises.The headmaster became a person of interest after discussions with the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairmen raised concerns about his actions.
The theft was formally reported on August 31, 2024, prompting swift intervention from the PCACC. The commission is now working to recover the missing items and ensure that the integrity of educational institutions is maintained.
