Kenneth Okonkwo Teases Nigerians Over Past ₦140 Per Litre Protests as Petrol Prices Soar to ₦1000 Amid Shortage.

Actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo has mocked Nigerians who are currently paying as much as ₦1000 per litre for petrol amid the ongoing shortage. He pointed out that many of the people now queuing to buy petrol at exorbitant prices were the same individuals protesting when the price of petrol was increased to ₦140 per litre in Ojota several years ago.

Okonkwo further highlighted the irony by noting that those who led the protests back then are now in positions of power, responsible for the price hike to as much as ₦1000 per litre. “Remember the protest held during the Jonathan administration in 2012 when the price of petrol was raised to ₦140 per litre?” he said, referencing the demonstration attended by current President Bola Tinubu.

In his social media post, Okonkwo drew attention to the changing dynamics in Nigeria’s fuel pricing, urging Nigerians to reflect on how past actions have shaped the present fuel crisis.
