At Least 11 Dead, 12 Injured in Kebbi Road Collision
At least 11 people have been killed and 12 others injured following a fatal road collision on the Dakingari-Kamba road in Kebbi State.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency specialist Zagazola Makama disclosed this on his X handle, citing security sources.
The accident occurred at Bakin Dutse on April 27 at around 10:00 p.m. A Mitsubishi Canter driven by Sanusi Aliyu of Kamba and a trailer whose driver and registration details remain unknown were involved in the crash.
According to the sources, the Canter was transporting cargo and passengers from Aljannare market to Kamba when the driver swerved to avoid a pothole, causing some passengers to fall off the vehicle. The trailer, approaching from the opposite direction, ran over the victims.
Among those who died instantly was Nura Nuhu, 25, from Sokoto State, along with ten others. Twelve people sustained serious injuries, including 45-year-old Aliyu Suleman.
The injured were taken to the General Hospital in Kamba for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited in the hospital mortuary pending autopsy.
