EFCC Arrests 15 Suspects Over Alleged Illegal Transport of Radioactive Materials

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested 15 individuals for allegedly transporting suspected radioactive solid materials illegally.

The arrests were carried out by officers from the commission’s Kaduna Zonal Directorate, according to a statement shared on the agency’s official X account.

The anti-graft agency disclosed that the suspects were apprehended on March 8, 2026, while conveying the materials in three trucks along Suleja Maji Road.

Preliminary investigations by the commission indicate that the suspected minerals were being transported to different locations across the country for purposes that have not yet been disclosed.

The EFCC confirmed that the suspects are currently being held at its Kaduna Zonal Directorate, where further investigations are ongoing.

The commission added that the suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
