Troops Repel ISWAP Fighters During Late-Night Attack Attempt in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai engaged suspected fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province on Thursday night after an attempted attack in Konduga Local Government Area.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the militants attempted to infiltrate the area at about 11:15 p.m., prompting troops stationed in the axis to respond immediately.

Residents reported hearing sustained gunfire as soldiers confronted the attackers in what witnesses described as an intense exchange.

“There have been heavy sounds of gunshots as the soldiers engage the terrorists. We are hearing the sounds around Dalori,” a resident said.
