Lagos Students, Teacher Survive Onipanu Crash

A road crash in Lagos involving two students and their teacher has raised fresh concern about speeding and road safety in the city.

The victims, all linked to a public junior college in Epe, were fortunate to survive after two vehicles collided in Onipanu. Emergency officials say the outcome could have been far worse.

Two students of Lagos State Model Junior College, Igbonla, Epe, and their teacher narrowly escaped death following a traffic accident in Onipanu, Lagos.

According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, the Lagos school accident Onipanu happened at about 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

In a statement, LASEMA Permanent Secretary Olufemi Oke Osanyintolu said the crash involved two speeding vehicles.

Officials explained that one of the cars reportedly lost its lane and moved into the opposite carriageway, leading to the collision.

Authorities said the two vehicles involved were:

• A Honda Accord with one occupant
• A Suzuki Alto carrying a teacher and two students

According to LASEMA, both vehicles were badly damaged in the Lagos school accident Onipanu.

The agency, however, confirmed that no lives were lost and that all occupants survived without critical injuries.

Emergency responders identified the two students as Animashaun Ridwan and Ogunbamowo Michael, both in JSS 2.

Reports say the students complained of:

• Head pain
• Eye pain

Emergency officials quickly stabilized them and provided first aid before releasing them to their parents.

The teacher involved in the Lagos school accident Onipanu was identified as Mr. Joseph, a Basic Technology instructor at the school.

LASEMA stated that all victims were safely evacuated from the area after the crash.

Officials also removed the damaged Suzuki Alto from the road to prevent additional accidents and ease traffic flow.

Both vehicles have since been handed over to the police for further investigation.

Following the Lagos school accident Onipanu, LASEMA warned motorists about the dangers of speeding and reckless driving.

The agency urged road users to:
