Firefighters Contain Blaze at Kukunba Farm in Jalingo

Operatives of the Federal Fire Service, Taraba State Command, have successfully extinguished a fire outbreak at Kukunba Farm located at ATC in Jalingo.

The incident occurred at about 11:00 a.m., according to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Sylvanus Mikailu.

Mikailu said a distress call was received through the Acting State Controller, ACF Yakubu Samson Dungus, prompting immediate deployment of a firefighting team led by ASF II Mu’azu Bako Danburam.

The crew swiftly brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading further. Officials noted that their rapid response helped save property valued at millions of naira. No casualties were recorded during the operation.

The fire appliance, driven by ASF II Edwin Macah, and the team returned to the station at approximately 2:35 p.m., with no subsequent complaints reported.

Acting State Controller Yakubu Samson Dungus reiterated the importance of adhering to fire safety measures and urged residents to promptly alert the Fire Service in the event of any emergency to ensure quick intervention.

Although the cause of the fire had not been determined at the time of reporting, residents in the area acknowledged that the timely arrival of firefighters prevented what could have escalated into a major loss.
