Regina Daniels Speaks on Marriage Crisis and Backlash

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has finally spoken out about the wave of criticism surrounding her marriage to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko.

In an emotional video she shared online, Regina, visibly drained, addressed the rumors and online comments that have followed her for weeks. According to her, the video was recorded on October 5 at around 5 a.m., after a long night of reflection.

She admitted she had barely slept and described the ongoing marital tension as “overwhelming,” hinting that there’s more happening behind the scenes than people realize.

“For some reason I actually feel like I owe you all this explanation because I don’t know why everyone is pained about my life. I don’t feel like you all are pained from a bad side. You are pained because you used your N200 or N500 to buy my CD just to watch my movies as a child… It’s okay. I am in the limelight. You all have a say,” she said.

Regina, who referred to Ned Nwoko as her “ex-husband” during the recording, also defended her mother, Rita Daniels, from what she described as unfair public attacks.

“My mom does not deserve the negativity people are throwing at her. Please, stop involving her in what’s happening. She’s been nothing but supportive to me,” Regina said, holding back tears.

The actress’s video sparked mixed reactions online. While some viewers sympathized with her emotional struggle, others criticized her tone, calling the video “confusing” and “unnecessary.”

Several social media users mocked her for “mocking” her critics, accusing her of belittling fans who had supported her since childhood.

Still, many Nigerians came to her defense, saying that regardless of fame or wealth, Regina deserves empathy as she navigates a difficult personal moment in the public eye.

Regina’s marriage to Ned Nwoko has often been a topic of public discussion since they wed in 2019. The union, marked by a significant age gap, has faced repeated scrutiny from fans and tabloids.

Despite public criticism, Regina has consistently portrayed her marriage as strong and supportive, often sharing family moments on social media. Her latest video, however, suggests that all may not be well.

So far, Ned Nwoko has not made any public statement addressing the claims or their relationship status.
