VDM and Mr Jollof Fight: Activist (VDM) Shares His Side of the Story

Social activist Very Dark Man has explained his version of what led to a confrontation between him and Mr. Jollof on a United Airlines flight this morning, November 17. The incident quickly went viral, prompting both confusion and curiosity about what actually happened.

In a video posted on his Instagram page, VDM described how the exchange began shortly after he boarded the plane. He suggested that tensions between both men had been simmering for a while, and seeing Mr. Jollof on the same flight reignited the conflict.

According to VDM, he walked past Mr. Jollof and made a remark about a previous disagreement. VDM claimed that this led to a sudden confrontation. He alleged that Mr. Jollof reacted aggressively and that the situation escalated faster than he expected. VDM said he responded in self-defense as other passengers stepped in to separate them.

In his words, VDM recounted the moment in a mix of English and pidgin: ‘’I don chop Jollof fada for inside plane., Man when dey bite. E nor shame, e dey bite. Man when dey bite. I beat am. Dey beg…dem dey help am. I enter plane, I see am na'im I tell am say today you go slap me oo… I go near and na'im e punch me…when I follow am, e start to bite me…him eye red''

The video focused on VDM’s perspective, describing the shock of passengers, the attempts to deescalate the situation, and his belief that the dispute could have been avoided. Mr. Jollof has yet to release a statement at the time of this report.
