Y’au Ibrahim Dauda Arrest: Key Kidnapper Detained in Bwari

Security authorities have detained Y’au Ibrahim Dauda, also known as Gwandara 01, a notorious figure suspected of orchestrating kidnappings and supplying bandits across the region. The arrest marks a significant step in curbing criminal networks operating in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the Scorpion Squad apprehended Dauda around 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, acting on what officials described as actionable intelligence in Bwari. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal gangs and enhance safety in vulnerable communities.

Sources told Makama that Dauda had been on the wanted list since 2024 due to his alleged involvement in multiple coordinated kidnappings within the Bwari local council. Investigators also linked him to kidnappings in the Garam region of Tafa local government in Niger State, including the 2024 abduction of a preacher at El-Rufai Estate near the Nigerian Law School in Bwari.

Authorities continue to pursue other gang members who are reportedly still at large, along with attempts to recover weapons associated with Dauda’s network. The arrest of Y’au Ibrahim Dauda is expected to provide critical leads in ongoing investigations and disrupt the operations of armed criminal groups.
