Governor Fintiri Urges Vigilance, Reaffirms Development Commitment in Northern Adamawa
Amid growing security concerns in parts of northern Adamawa State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has called on residents to remain vigilant and actively support ongoing efforts to maintain peace in their communities.
The governor made the appeal during a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Professor Bulus Gadiga, the paramount ruler of Michika Chiefdom. The visit followed the governor’s return from Easter celebrations in his hometown of Gulak.
While addressing the Michika community, Governor Fintiri emphasized the importance of community vigilance, encouraging residents to cooperate with security forces by sharing timely and credible intelligence. He reassured the traditional ruler and the people of Michika that his administration remains committed to completing ongoing projects and initiating new ones aimed at fostering development in the area.
In response, HRH Prof. Bulus Gadiga expressed appreciation for the governor’s leadership and the progress achieved under his administration. He also acknowledged the establishment of the Michika Chiefdom as a positive step and confirmed that local district chiefs have been tasked with monitoring movements in and out of the communities to strengthen local security.
The traditional ruler commended the efforts of security agencies working in the region and urged residents to continue supporting them. He also encouraged young people to engage in farming ahead of the rainy season, as a way to boost self-reliance and reduce dependency on government support.
HRH Gadiga concluded his remarks with prayers for the governor’s continued success and affirmed the Chiefdom’s unwavering loyalty to his leadership.
