Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, and Yobe Christian Pilgrims Arrive in Jordan
Christian pilgrims from Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, and Yobe states have successfully arrived in Jordan after being airlifted from Yola late on Friday, January 24.
According to a source from the Adamawa contingent, a total of 352 pilgrims touched down at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan, at 4:15 a.m. Nigerian time (6:15 a.m. Jordanian time) on Saturday. Their journey began at the Modibbo Adama International Airport in Yola at 11:36 p.m. Friday night.
The 180 pilgrims from Adamawa were joined by their counterparts from Taraba, Gombe, and Yobe to complete the group of 352 travelers.
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Edgar Amos, bid farewell to the pilgrims at the Yola airport. The governor prayed for their safety and urged them to respect the laws of both Israel and Jordan during their pilgrimage.
The pilgrims will spend over a week visiting significant Christian holy sites in Jordan and Israel. They are expected to return to Nigeria on February 3, 2025, as confirmed by the Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Geoffrey Garba, during a farewell service held earlier on Friday.
