Nigeria Congratulates the United States on Leadership Transition
The Federal Government of Nigeria has extended its congratulations to the United States on its recent presidential transition.
Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Nigerian government expressed its eagerness to strengthen bilateral ties with the U.S. in a congratulatory letter issued on Monday.
Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the acting spokesperson for the ministry, released a statement highlighting Nigeria’s optimism for continued cooperation.
“The Federal Republic of Nigeria congratulates the new U.S. administration following the successful transition of leadership," the statement read.
“Nigeria and the United States of America have enjoyed cooperation in diverse areas of mutual interest, especially in the promotion of good governance, sustainable development, and the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
“Nigeria therefore looks forward to further strengthening our historic, strong, and vibrant strategic partnership for the benefit of all our people.”
