Former President Buhari Returns to Nigeria After Testifying in $2.3 Billion Arbitration Dispute
After testifying in the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Court of Arbitration in Paris, France, in a well-known arbitration dispute, former President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria.
Bashir Ahmad, a former Special Assistant on Digital Communications, posted a video of Buhari getting off an aeroplane when he returned.
Nigeria and Sunrise Power, which filed the lawsuit in 2017 alleging a breach of contract for the construction of the 3,050MW Mambilla power plant in Taraba State, are at the centre of the arbitration, which is centred on a $2.3 billion dispute.
Originally, the $6 billion project was slated to be built, operated, and transferred.
Nigeria's defence heavily relies on Buhari's testimony.
The presidency claims several witnesses have voluntarily testified, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
