JAMB Reschedules 2025 UTME Registration to February 3

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new start date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration, shifting it from Friday, January 31, 2025, to Monday, February 3, 2025.

In a statement released by JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board explained that the delay was necessary to implement critical modifications to its registration templates.

The decision was influenced by two key factors:

  1. Suspension of Some Law Programs – The Council for Legal Education recently halted certain law programs at select universities, prompting JAMB to adjust its system accordingly.

  2. CBT Center Fraud Detection – The board identified deceptive practices used by some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers to gain approval. As a result, JAMB is conducting further scrutiny and disapproval of fraudulent centers to ensure a fair registration process.

Benjamin acknowledged that the adjustment might cause inconvenience for candidates and stakeholders, stating:

“The Board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience. The additional time will be used to ensure that all necessary changes are made for a smooth registration process.”

Candidates are advised to stay updated with official JAMB announcements to avoid misinformation and ensure a hassle-free registration experience.
