Festus Keyamo Commissions Xejet’s $10 Million Flight Support Hub in Abuja

On Tuesday, Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, inaugurated Xejet’s state-of-the-art $10 million Flight Support and Engineering Hub at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja.

Keyamo emphasized the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment and establishing proper regulations to support private sector growth, even in the absence of direct funding.

“This is a huge achievement,” Keyamo remarked. “The concept alone, getting the backing and bringing it to fruition like this, with one of the best construction companies we have, is a dream come true. Let me say that we have also attracted similar projects to this part of the airport.”

He further assured Xejet of continuous government support. “We will be here with you throughout, from the beginning to the end. Our technical team will be here. The MD FAAN will put the engineering team together to ensure they support you and that you comply with all regulations. The DG NCAA too will do the same to ensure that what we have here will be world-class.”

The facility reflects Xejet's commitment to elevating aviation services in Nigeria to international standards, said Emmanuel Iza, the airline’s CEO.

“Through cutting-edge technology, superior engineering, and unparalleled flight support, Xejet seeks to not only improve operational efficiencies but deliver an exclusive experience that sets us apart in the industry,” Iza stated.

Regarding the financial aspects of the project, Iza explained that it is being implemented in two phases. “The first phase is to prepare the ground, creating the taxiway that will connect the runway to our facility and the apron. That’s roughly in excess of $5 million. We expect to invest an equal amount in constructing the facility on top of it,” he said.
