Gunmen Kill Two, Kidnap Six in Gombe Community

Gunmen have killed two people and abducted six others during an early-morning attack in Pindiga town, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.

The Gombe gunmen attack occurred at about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025, according to the Gombe State Police Command.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said the attackers first stormed a residence along the Pindiga–Kashere Road.

During the invasion, Yusuf Mohammed, 31, and Faiza Mohammed, 28, were shot by the assailants.

A 16-year-old girl, identified as Zainab Mohammed Yusuf, was also abducted from the same location.

The two shooting victims were rushed to the Cottage Hospital in Pindiga, where medical personnel later confirmed them dead.

Police said the attackers proceeded to another nearby house, where they abducted Summai Yayaji, 35, the wife of Alhaji Yayaji, along with their two children:

  • Al’amin, 11

  • Fatima, 14

According to DSP Abdullahi, security personnel recovered one live round of ammunition and six expended AK-47 shell casings at the scene of the attack.

The Gombe gunmen attack has prompted heightened security measures across the area.

Police authorities said joint efforts involving security operatives, local vigilante groups, and hunters are currently underway to rescue the abducted victims and track down those responsible.

Investigations are ongoing, and residents have been urged to remain calm while cooperating with security agencies.
