New Details Emerge On Law School Student’s Death In Yola

The death of Ayomiposi Ojajuni, a Nigerian Law School student at the Yola Campus, has shaken many people across the country. What began as a confusing report on Saturday has gradually taken shape as new information surfaced late Sunday night.

Ayomiposi died on Sunday morning after ingesting a harmful substance. Earlier reports suggested he reacted in distress when he was stopped from taking his final bar examination on December 6. At the time, it was unclear why he was turned back.

A new angle shared by individuals familiar with the case claims the reason may have been related to attendance. One source, who spoke privately, said Ayomiposi did not meet the mandatory 75 percent attendance required to sit for the bar exams. The source described attendance as a strict eligibility requirement that the institution rarely overlooks.

Another person with knowledge of the events said Ayomiposi consumed what was believed to be rat poison after discovering he was not on the list of qualified candidates released ahead of the exam.

He was taken to the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital in Yola for treatment but passed away the following morning.

Authorities have not issued a detailed public statement, and many students are still hoping for clarity as the situation continues to unfold.
