Four Women Killed, 26 Injured in Adamawa Road Crash
Four women lost their lives and 26 others sustained injuries in a road accident along the Yola–Mubi highway in Adamawa State on Monday night.
The victims were reportedly travelling to attend the annual convention of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria in Demsa Local Government Area when the crash occurred.
Donan Prambe, Deputy Chairman of Song Local Government Area, said he was driving behind the vehicle when he noticed it suddenly veer off the road into nearby bushland. The passengers were said to be members of LCCN Simra in Dunen town, Song LGA.
According to him, three women died instantly at the scene, while others were found unconscious and severely injured. A fourth victim later succumbed, bringing the death toll to four.
The injured and the deceased were taken to the Specialist Hospital Yola for treatment and further procedures.
Dr. Dauda Wadinga, the hospital’s Medical Director, confirmed that those brought in alive are receiving medical care.
As of the time of filing this report, Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, had yet to provide an official update after consulting with the relevant Divisional Police Officer.
