Woman Banished From Imo Community Over Alleged Child Sale
A woman accused of selling her sister-in-law’s son for N800,000 has been expelled from her community in Imo State.
Village authorities in Umekpu, Ogbaku, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, reportedly declared her persona non grata after details of the allegation emerged.
In a video circulating online, the woman is seen being escorted out of the village by residents who mocked and sang disparaging songs as she was led away.
A community leader, speaking in the footage, stated that the decision was taken collectively by the village.
“We are banishing her from our community, Umekpu Village, Ogbaku, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State,” he said, alleging that she sold her sister-in-law’s son for N800,000.
