NiMet Predicts Sunshine and Thunderstorms Across Nigeria This Week
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted a mix of sunny skies and thunderstorms across various regions of the country from Wednesday through Friday, urging the public and stakeholders to prepare for weather fluctuations.
In its three-day weather outlook released in Abuja, the agency detailed region-specific predictions and issued advisories for safety and travel planning, especially in areas where thunderstorms are expected.

NiMet has urged residents and travelers to exercise caution, especially in regions where thunderstorms are expected, due to the potential for strong winds.
“High winds may precede rainfall, and unsecured objects could pose risks,” the agency noted.
For the aviation sector, NiMet recommends that airline operators request airport-specific weather forecasts (flight documentation) for accurate and safe operational planning.
