PDP Governors Reject Federal Government Intimidation, Reaffirm Party Unity
At the 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja, governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vowed to resist what they described as federal government intimidation and exclusionary tactics.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who chairs the PDP Governors Forum, declared that despite political pressures, defections, and subtle provocations under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, PDP governors remain united and committed to good governance.
“There is no form of intimidation or persuasion that we, as elected governors and members, have not encountered. Yet, we remain resolute,” Mohammed said, stressing that unlike other parties plagued by internal divisions, the PDP remains cohesive and focused.
He cited recent party engagements in states such as Plateau, Taraba, Oyo, Delta, Akwa Ibom, and Bauchi as evidence of PDP’s continued relevance and firm stance on key governance issues.
Calling the NEC meeting a triumph of democracy, Mohammed praised the resilience of PDP leaders and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to standing strong in the face of political challenges.
