Gunmen Abduct Veterinarian and His Three Children in Niger-FCT Border Community
Tension has gripped Kungabokun, a border community between Niger State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), after armed men abducted Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, a veterinarian, along with his three children.

The incident occurred late Wednesday night, around 11:45 p.m., when the gunmen reportedly broke into the doctor’s residence through a window.
They whisked the victims away to an unknown location, leaving residents terrified and shaken.
Following the abduction, operatives from the Byazhin Police Division, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, and local vigilante groups mobilized immediately to the scene.
Search operations have since been launched across the surrounding hills and forested areas in a bid to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has taken over the case.
Authorities have assured locals that intensive efforts are underway to secure the safe release of Dr. Ogbu and his children.
Residents of Kungabokun have described the incident as one of the most disturbing in recent times, calling on both the Niger State Government and the FCT authorities to strengthen security patrols along the border axis.
