Nigerian Army Kills Dozens of Terrorists, Arrests 25 Suspects, and Rescues 16 Hostages in Nationwide Raids

In a series of well-coordinated offensives across Nigeria, the Nigerian Army has killed several terrorists, arrested 25 suspects, and rescued 16 hostages. The raids, carried out in different regions, also led to the seizure of motorcycles, weapons, explosives, fuel, narcotics, and ammunition, according to a military source at Army Headquarters.

Key Operations by Region

Northeast

  • Troops struck ISWAP/JAS terrorists in Kolori and Karumi (Borno State) and Madagali (Adamawa State).

  • In Mafa LGA, soldiers intercepted a logistics provider carrying 23 cans of petrol hidden in a bag.

  • In Mubi North, fuel and fertilisers meant for insurgents were stopped.

  • In Garkida, a suspected terrorist confessed involvement in past Damboa attacks.

  • Items recovered: M70AB2 rifle, four magazines, 150 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition.

Northwest

  • Troops of 1 Brigade foiled multiple attacks in Maradun, Tsafe, and Anka (Zamfara State).

  • Several motorcycles were seized and six abducted victims freed.

  • In Sanga LGA, Kaduna, intelligence led to the arrest of a notorious kidnap kingpin.

North Central

  • Along Kyado–Wukari road, ten kidnapped passengers were rescued.

  • Operation Whirl Stroke troops killed a violent extremist in Katsina-Ala (Benue State).

  • In Kwara, soldiers freed three kidnap victims near Eruku town.

  • In Nasarawa, a car carrying drugs was intercepted and two suspects arrested.

South East

  • In Mgbidi (Imo State), two cultists were arrested with a motorcycle, phones, and a weapon.

  • Troops disrupted IPOB/ESN operations in Orumba North (Anambra State) by detonating three IEDs.

  • Weapons seized: 27 cartridges, two locally made double-barrel guns.

South South

  • Joint operations with NDLEA led to the arrest of 19 drug dealers in Delta and Bayelsa States.

  • Substances recovered: cannabis, tramadol, pentazocine, diazepam, Canadian loud.

  • In Rivers and Bayelsa, over 1,200 liters of illegally refined diesel and crude oil were seized.

  • Four suspected kidnappers were arrested in Oshimili North (Delta State).
