Ondo Police Arrest Woman for Allegedly Running Baby Factory in Ore

A woman identified as Ada Clement has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly operating a baby factory in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area.

According to a statement by the police spokesperson, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, five pregnant teenage girls were rescued from the illegal facility during the operation.

Ayanlade revealed that one of the victims gave birth to a baby boy within the facility before the raid. He added that the suspect sold babies for ₦400,000 and above for female infants, and ₦600,000 and above for male infants.

“The Ondo State Police Command has uncovered a suspected baby factory and human trafficking syndicate operating within Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

The incident came to light on October 21, 2025, at about 7:30 p.m., when one Vivian Peter, a 17-year-old girl from Ikot Ekpan, Akwa Ibom State, who is presently pregnant, reported at the Ore Division that she had been trafficked from Akwa Ibom to Ore under the guise of being offered a job opportunity.

However, she managed to escape and sought refuge at the Ore Division, where she reported the incident to the police,” Ayanlade said.

Following the victim’s report, police officers launched an immediate investigation that led to the discovery of the illegal facility.

Preliminary findings revealed that the suspect, Ada Clement, and her accomplices detained young pregnant girls at the premises until they gave birth—after which the babies were sold to buyers seeking children.

Ayanlade confirmed that the suspects have confessed to the crime, and further investigations are ongoing to identify additional members of the trafficking network and buyers connected to the case.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities that may involve human traffickingor child exploitation, emphasizing that the command remains committed to dismantling such criminal syndicates across the state.
