UNIJOS Student Arrested for Allegedly Killing and Burying His Friend
Nanpon Timnan, a 200-level Agriculture student at the University of Jos (UNIJOS), has been arrested by the Plateau State Police Command on suspicion of killing and burying his best friend, Peter Mafuyai, a 300-level student in the Department of Banking and Finance.
According to reports, the tragic incident occurred on Saturday, October 25, inside the suspect’s off-campus apartment in the Laranto area of Jos.
Witnesses said the two students were close friends who often spent time together due to their shared passion for music. Timnan had reportedly just returned from a recording session when the alleged crime took place.
A fellow student told reporters that both men had gone to play football earlier in the day, returned home, and later went out to a music studio before heading back to the house, where the incident happened.
Authorities have yet to release an official motive. However, investigations are ongoing, and the suspect remains in custody while police continue to gather evidence.
