Osun Police Begin Enforcement of Tinted Glass Permits – Here’s How to Apply
The Osun State Police Command has announced the commencement of a statewide enforcement of tinted glass permits, in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.

The enforcement officially begins Thursday, October 2, 2025, and car owners with tinted windows have been urged to register or reactivate their permits via the Police Specialized Services Automation Platform (POSSAP).
The directive was issued in a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan.
According to the statement:
“The Osun State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the enforcement of tinted glass permit commences nationwide on 2nd October 2025. Vehicle owners with tinted glasses are enjoined to register or reactivate their tinted vehicles through the POSSAP platform at possap.gov.ng.”
How to Apply for a Tinted Glass Permit
Applicants are required to process their permits strictly through the POSSAP online portal. Below are the steps:
Visit possap.gov.ng.
Create an account using a valid email address and password.
Select the category that applies to you (individual, corporate, or NGO).
Choose an identification tag (NIN or BVN) and input the number.
Provide all required details and upload supporting documents.

Proof of vehicle ownership.
Valid driver’s license.
Passport photograph.
Security clearance or medical report (to justify the need for tinted glass).
Vehicle documentation proving that the tint was factory-installed.
