Troops Kill Boko Haram Fighter, Rescue Two Hostages in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai have killed a Boko Haram fighter and rescued two hostages during a clearance operation across several communities in Borno State.

According to security reports, the operation, carried out by soldiers of the 222 Battalion (Main), took place on October 1, spanning the villages of Mittiri, Loskuri, Tamsu Ngamdu, and Wonori.

The troops, supported by volunteer motorbike units, combed through the area as part of ongoing efforts to clear remaining insurgent hideouts.

One insurgent was neutralized during the engagement, and the soldiers recovered a motorcycle belonging to the terrorist group.

Two hostages held captive by the insurgents were also rescued and safely evacuated for medical evaluation and debriefing.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the operation’s success and noted that troops remain deployed across the region to prevent further attacks.

The military reiterated its determination to restore lasting peace and stability to Nigeria’s North East through continued offensive operations.
