Eko DisCo Announces 25-Day Power Outage Across Lagos from July 28

Residents across several areas in Lagos State should brace for extended electricity disruptions as the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has announced a 25-day daily power outage beginning Monday, July 28 through Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The utility company made this known in a customer notice shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday.

According to EKEDC, the power cuts are necessary to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to carry out critical maintenance work on the 330kV Omotosho–Ikeja West transmission line.

“The outage will occur between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily, affecting several parts of Lagos and other serviced areas,” the statement read.

EKEDC further informed customers to expect intermittent power supply and load shedding during the entire period across its operational network.
