Bandit Leader Bello Turji Reportedly Threatens Sokoto Villagers Over Local Dam
Fear grips residents of Isa Local Government Area in Sokoto State following threats allegedly issued by notorious bandit kingpin Bello Turji. Reports circulating on social media indicate that Turji ordered the draining of a local dam, accusing villagers of obstructing his group’s movement.
According to security analyst Bakatsine, who shared the report via a post on X (formerly Twitter), Turji vowed to unleash “brutal consequences” on residents who fail to comply.
“Bandit kingpin Bello Turji has vowed to force villagers in Isa LGA, Sokoto State to drain their dam, warning of brutal consequences for defiance. How is a terrorist bragging like a ruler?” Bakatsine wrote.
As of press time, neither the Sokoto State Government nor federal authorities have issued any statements regarding the alleged threat.
The dam in question is believed to be strategically located, possibly hampering the free movement of armed groups in the region.
Residents reportedly remain on edge, fearing possible attacks or reprisals if they resist the demand.
