FIRS Welcomes New Recruits, Vows to Transform Nigeria’s Tax System with People, Processes, and Technology
On Monday, June 2, 2025, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) officially inducted its newly recruited staff in a ceremony led by the Executive Chairman, who emphasized the pivotal role they will play in shaping Nigeria’s economic future.
In his inspiring keynote address, the Chairman said:
“This marks not just the beginning of your employment, but the start of a profound journey one in which your talents and commitment will shape the future of Nigeria’s financial architecture.”
He described the new recruits as essential to building economic resilience and budgetary stability, key pillars for national progress.
In a press statement issued by Arabinrin Aderonke Atoyebi, Technical Assistant to the Chairman, FIRS reaffirmed its mission to revolutionize tax administration using a strategic three-pronged model: People, Processes, and Technology.
“Our people are our most valuable asset. The sustainability of all our systems depends on your competence, innovation, and integrity,” the Chairman stated.
FIRS highlighted its commitment to lifelong learning and professional development, stressing that technology will complement, not replace, human competence. Advanced tools like data analytics and AI are being deployed to improve transparency, accountability, and service delivery.
The Chairman invoked a Yoruba proverb to drive home the message:
“Without your innovation, commitment, and ownership, all tools and systems remain dormant.”
He concluded by urging the recruits to embody integrity, responsibility, and excellence, noting that their actions will directly impact the Service and the country.
“Every action you take reflects not only on you, but on the Service, and ultimately, on the nation.”
