Wike Urges Unity and Devotion in Eid-el-Kabir Message to FCT Residents

Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslims and all residents of the FCT, urging them to embrace the values of sacrifice, genuine religion, and national unity during this sacred period.

In a statement released on Friday, Wike described the holiday as one of immense spiritual significance, rooted in the obedience and devotion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

“This celebration is not only a spiritual milestone but also a time to renew our collective commitment to peace, tolerance, and mutual respect.”

The Minister praised the Muslim community in Abuja for their spirit of peaceful coexistence and dedication to development. He reassured them that the FCT Administration is working hard to improve quality of life under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“In the coming days, we will begin commissioning a plethora of completed projects across the Territory… These are critical projects aimed at opening up the healthcare, education, agriculture, transportation and more sectors of the FCT.”

Wike noted that these infrastructure efforts are “visible proof” of the administration’s resolve to deliver tangible, impactful change that matches the hopes and aspirations of all Nigerians.

The Minister also addressed recent public concerns about a quarry explosion in Abuja, clarifying that it was industrial in nature, not an act of terrorism.

“Immediate investigations were conducted, and appropriate safety measures are being reinforced to prevent any recurrence. We are committed to transparent communication and proactive management of public safety concerns.”

He assured residents that Abuja remains one of the safest cities in Nigeria and emphasized the government's commitment to safety, transparency, and stability.

Wike wrapped up his message by calling on citizens to pray for President Tinubu’s courage and wisdom to steer the country toward greater heights.

“On behalf of the FCT Administration, I wish you and your families a joyful, safe, and spiritually fulfilling Eid. May Allah accept our prayers and sacrifices, and may He continue to bless the FCT and our dear nation, Nigeria.”
