148 Nigerians Evacuated From Sudan Arrive Safely in Kano
As part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safe evacuation of citizens stranded abroad, at least 148 Nigerians have returned from Sudan to the National Emergency Management Agency’s (NEMA) Kano Operations Office.

The returnees landed on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport aboard a chartered Tarco Aviation flight, according to a statement issued by NEMA on Saturday.
The group included:
39 boys
57 girls
25 adult men
27 adult women
After arrival, the passengers were transported to Chila Hotel, where they underwent profiling and documentation by relevant agencies.
NEMA confirmed that:
The repatriation exercise was well-coordinated and successfully executed.
Returnees were not enrolled in a reintegration programme but were provided with ATM cards containing transport allowances to support their immediate travel home.
The agency worked closely with other stakeholders to ensure safety and accountability during the evacuation.
The evacuation comes amid the ongoing conflict in Sudan, which has:
Displaced millions of people
Severely impacted the nation’s infrastructure
Forced many foreign nationals, including Nigerians, to seek urgent evacuation
The Federal Government, through NEMA and in collaboration with international partners, continues to monitor the situation and provide support to Nigerians affected by the crisis.
