Atiku Blames Tinubu for Rising Insecurity in Northern Nigeria
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the escalating activities of terrorists and bandits across northern Nigeria, describing the situation as unacceptable and blaming it on the alleged failure of the Tinubu-led administration.

Atiku shared his concerns in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday after meeting with political stakeholders from Borno State, including Mohammed Kumaila.
Atiku revealed that his discussion with the Borno leaders focused primarily on the deteriorating security situation in the North East, North West, and North Central regions.
According to him:
Terrorists and bandits have taken over communities, imposing levies on citizens.
Farming and economic activities have been disrupted in several areas.
The occupation of Nigerian territories is evidence of failed political leadership under the APC-led federal government.
Despite his criticisms, Atiku expressed confidence in the ability of Nigeria’s security forces to defeat terrorism and banditry if given proper political direction.
“With the right political leadership, Nigerian security forces have the capacity to take on the insecurity confronting the country,” he said.
He emphasized that restoring security requires not just military action but also effective governance and accountability.
Atiku also used the opportunity to rally Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections, urging citizens to unite against what he described as failed leadership.
He pledged to support initiatives aimed at restoring peace and economic prosperity.
He thanked the Borno stakeholders for raising their concerns about the state of the nation.
