Nigerian Army Arrests Five Suspected Bandits in Kwara, Seizes Six AK-47 Rifles
Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested five suspected bandits in Kwara State, recovering six AK-47 rifles hidden inside a vehicle. The suspects were nabbed on Thursday at a military checkpoint near Share town, Ifelodun Local Government Area (LGA).

According to Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor, the bandits attempted to smuggle the weapons under bags of charcoal in a Golf saloon car.

Ajakaye confirmed the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and have been transferred to the police headquarters in Ilorin for further investigation.
This operation followed the arrest of six alleged couriers of kidnappers on Wednesday in Babanla town, Ifelodun LGA.
They were reportedly carrying a large consignment of food and petrol, believed to be supplies for criminal groups.
In a separate incident on Tuesday, government-backed vigilantes launched an attack in Omu Aran–Eruku, killing several criminals and recovering:
Six motorcycles
Assault rifles
Multiple loaded magazines
The vigilantes also rescued four women and two young men, suspected victims of abduction, and handed them over to the police divisional post in Omu Aran.
