Kano Governor Reshuffles Cabinet to Boost Service Delivery
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced a minor cabinet reshuffle affecting key ministries, in what he described as a move to strengthen administration and improve service performance.

In a statement released late Monday by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, the governor confirmed that the ministries of Justice, Transportation, Environment, and Humanitarian Affairs were impacted.
Key changes include:
Haruna Isa Dederi, formerly Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, has been reassigned to head the Ministry of Transportation.
Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad, previously the Permanent Secretary and Solicitor General of the Justice Ministry, will now serve as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Environment.
The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, who had been temporarily overseeing the Ministry of Transportation, will now return fully to their original role.
Governor Yusuf instructed all affected officials to handover to the most senior officers in their ministries and complete the transition process by Tuesday, September 23.
The governor explained that the shake-up was not punitive but aimed at enhancing efficiency and ensuring effective delivery of government commitments.
By repositioning officials across strategic ministries, Yusuf hopes to create better alignment between leadership and service goals, particularly in the areas of transportation, justice, environment, and humanitarian support.
