Edo Governor Okpebholo Approves Three New Commissioner-Nominees, Bringing Cabinet Picks to 29
Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of three new commissioner-nominees to join the State Executive Council.
The latest additions are Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea, Hon. Christopher Ewere Okaeben, and Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele.
The news was disclosed on Friday in Benin City through a statement by Barrister Umar Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government.
With these nominations, Governor Okpebholo has now nominated and appointed a total of 29 commissioners.
Out of the 26 nominees earlier confirmed, only nine have been sworn in and assigned portfolios. The remaining await induction into the State Executive Council.
Political Profiles of the Nominees
Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea: Former Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly. He represented Esan South East constituency.
Hon. Christopher Ewere Okaeben: Former Edo lawmaker who represented Oredo West constituency.
Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele: Newly nominated, bringing a mix of professional expertise to the council.
The appointments are part of Okpebholo’s ongoing effort to strengthen governance and ensure broader representationacross the state. However, questions remain over the delay in swearing in many of the previously confirmed nominees.
