Police Probe Murder of Three Men in Lekki Apartment

Authorities in Lagos are investigating the brutal killing of three men in their apartment on Olateju Street, Lekki Phase One.

The victims, yet to be identified, were reportedly casual laborers who lived in a small makeshift building inside a street-side complex.

According to residents, the attack occurred early Sunday morning:

  • The men were asleep when assailants stormed the apartment.

  • They were dragged outside by the attackers.

  • The victims were then killed with machetes, sustaining deep cuts.

A neighbor, speaking anonymously for security reasons, said one of the victims’ colleagues raised the alarm after discovering the gruesome scene.

“When neighbours rushed there, the three of them were found lying in a pool of blood with deep machete wounds. We learnt that the killers dragged them out of the room before slaughtering them,” the resident said.

The incident has left the usually quiet Lekki neighborhood in shock. A member of the Lekki Estate Residents Association said:

“This has never happened here before. Everyone is unsettled, and security measures are already being stepped up to prevent a recurrence. The police were immediately alerted.”

As of the time of reporting, the motive behind the killings remains unknown. Police have confirmed they are investigating the case and working to track down those responsible.

The attack highlights growing concerns about urban security in Lagos, even in areas like Lekki that are typically seen as safe. The killings have prompted calls for tighter surveillance and community-police collaboration.
