Four Arrested After Attack on Sokoto Deputy Governor’s Convoy
Security operatives have arrested four suspects following an attack on the convoy of the Sokoto State Deputy Governorin Shagari Local Government Area.

The deputy governor had traveled to Shagari town to offer condolences to communities recently displaced by bandit attacks when the incident occurred.
According to sources, the attack took place around 1 p.m. on Thursday when a group of angry locals blocked the deputy governor’s convoy and vandalized some of the vehicles.
The residents, believed to be displaced persons, reportedly expressed frustration over ongoing insecurity in their towns.
Troops from Operation FANSAN YANMA were deployed to the scene, where they:
Cleared the roadblock
Dispersed the crowd
Restored calm in the area
“Four suspects were arrested at the scene and transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for discreet investigation,” a security source confirmed.
Authorities said peace has since returned to the community, with security presence reinforced to prevent a recurrence.
