The Kebbi State Government has restated its commitment to supporting security agencies in their ongoing battle against banditry and insurgency across the state.

During a courtesy visit on Friday, Yakubu Birnin Kebbi, Commissioner for Information and Culture, welcomed Brigadier General Tukur Isma’il Gusau, the Director of Defense Information, in Birnin Kebbi.

The commissioner pledged that the state government would continue to provide:

  • Intelligence support

  • Logistics assistance

  • Allowances for security personnel

He also called on the Defense Headquarters to organize a town hall meeting that would include:

  • Traditional rulers

  • Religious leaders

  • Youth organizations

  • Community heads

This, he emphasized, would improve intelligence sharing and strengthen community involvement in security operations.

In his remarks, Brig. Gen. Gusau explained that his visit was aimed at assessing military-media cooperation in Kebbi and across the wider Northwest region.

He praised Governor Nasir Idris for his consistent support, noting that it has contributed significantly to the restoration of peace in affected communities.
