Freight Train Collides With Tourist Bus in Russia, Killing One and Injuring Eleven
A tragic collision between a freight train and a tourist bus near Saint Petersburg has left one person dead and at least eleven others injured, according to Russian authorities.

The incident occurred early Monday morning at approximately 03:00 GMT, when the passenger bus became stalled on a level crossing in the northwest region of the country.
According to a statement from Russia’s national rail operator, the train conductor spotted the stranded bus and immediately activated the emergency brakes, but it was too late to stop a high-speed collision.
“Despite the emergency braking, the driver was unable to prevent the collision,” the railway authority confirmed.
Initial reports stated that twelve people on board the bus sustained injuries. Sadly, one later died while undergoing treatment. The condition of the remaining passengers remains unclear, though they are all receiving medical care.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with a key focus on whether the bus driver ignored safety signals or attempted an unauthorized crossing.
