NSCDC Donates N900,000 to Family of Slain Officer in Jigawa
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Jigawa State Command has donated N900,000 to the family of SC. Bashir Adamu Jibrin, an officer killed while performing his duty.

The donation was made during the celebration of 100 days in office of the State Commandant, CC Bala Bawa Bodinga, at the command headquarters in Dutse.
Officer Jibrin lost his life after detaining a notorious criminal wanted by the command at Shiwarin Market in Kiyawa Local Government Area. Following the arrest, thugs launched a violent attack on him, leading to his tragic death.
According to CC Bawa, the funds came from multiple sources:
N600,000 from his NSCDC colleagues
N100,000 from the Dutse Local Government chairman
N200,000 from businessman Alhaji Nura Maigatari Danbahago
In addition, Commandant Bawa personally pledged N20,000 monthly support for the officer’s family until the end of his tenure in Jigawa.
The Commandant praised the slain officer’s sacrifice, bravery, and loyalty, describing him as a patriot who died in active service. He urged the widow to use the funds to secure her children’s education and welfare.
“He will always be remembered by this command for his dedication and unselfish sacrifice,” Bawa said.
The widow, overwhelmed with emotion, expressed gratitude to the NSCDC and other contributors, promising to use the assistance wisely.
