Naira Gains Slightly Against Dollar on Official Market
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reported a slight appreciation of the naira against the dollar on the official foreign exchange market as of Thursday, August 14.

According to figures published on the CBN’s official website, the naira gained 0.3 on a daily basis, strengthening to ₦1,534.52 per dollar from ₦1,534.83 the previous day.
On the parallel market, the naira held steady at ₦1,565 per dollar, the same rate recorded the day before.
The local currency had shown gains in both the official and parallel markets earlier in the week, reflecting modest improvements in foreign exchange stability.
CBN spokesperson Hakama Sidi Ali recently urged Nigerians to avoid:
Spraying naira notes at events.
Hawking currency.
Mutilating banknotes.
Counterfeiting money.
She stressed that proper handling of the naira is essential for preserving its value and integrity.
