Jigawa PCC Seeks Closer Collaboration With State Police Command

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the police command’s spokesperson following a courtesy visit to the Dutse Police Headquarters by Hon. Barde Usman Shehu, the PCC Commissioner in Jigawa State.
According to Shehu, the PCC’s mandate is to serve as a non-judicial body that:
Investigates complaints between the public and government agencies
Mediates disputes
Makes recommendations for amicable resolutions
“The PCC is neither a court of law nor a law enforcement agency, but an institution designed to promote accountability, justice, and good governance,” Shehu explained.
Responding, Commissioner of Police CP Dahiru Muhammad commended the PCC for its role in strengthening accountability and justice.
He assured that the police would cooperate with the Commission to enhance justice, peace, and public trust in government institutions.
