Tinubu Heads to Japan and Brazil for Investment, Development Talks
President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a two-nation trip to Japan and Brazil, with a brief stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Tinubu is attending the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama, Japan, from August 20 to 22, at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, the conference theme, "Co-create Innovative Solutions with Africa" will focus on how private investment and innovation can drive:
Sustainable development in Africa.
Improved business environments.
Economic transformation across the continent.
Following the Japan summit, Tinubu will travel to Brasilia, Brazil, from August 24 to 25 for a two-day state visit at President Lula da Silva’s invitation.
In Brazil, Tinubu will:
Hold bilateral talks with his host.
Attend a business roundtable with Brazilian investors.
Witness the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements aimed at deepening Nigeria–Brazil relations.
Onanuga noted that the delegation, made up of senior government officials and key ministers, will explore opportunities for expanded collaboration in trade, investment, and development projects with both Japan and Brazil.
